Two kayakers rescued in Florida Keys by Coast Guard
Coast Guard crews rescued two kayakers Saturday morning in the Keys after they became disoriented and suffered mild hypothermia. Travis Jackson and Josh Turner -- both 17 and from Coral Springs -- called the Coast Guard around 4 a.m., saying they were unable to make it ashore and were drifting north. They said they were cold and huddled under an emergency blanket, according to a Coast Guard report.
Beaten Deerfield Beach teen still in critical condition
The 15-year-old Deerfield Beach girl allegedly beaten by another teen over a text message remained in critical condition Saturday. Josie Lou Ratley was in a drug-induced coma at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, according to Rick Freedman, her family's attorney. Ratley went through a second surgery on Friday.
